SCHEDULE: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8-Hour Shifts
SALARY RANGE: $21.00-30.00/hour, commensurate with experience
START DATE: October 2025

OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW:
Client is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant (MA) to join our new Los Gatos team. This role supports the radiation oncologists, nursing team, and radiation therapists in providing safe, efficient, and patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced oncology setting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Rooms patients for visits; obtains and records vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, weight, pulse oximetry).
- Assists with patient histories, medication lists, and nursing assessments as needed.
- Prepares exam and treatment rooms; ensures proper supplies, cleanliness, and infection control protocols.
- Schedules and coordinates diagnostic tests, labs, and follow-up appointments as ordered by providers.
- Assists with obtaining medical records, imaging, and lab results from outside facilities to ensure a complete medical record for provider review.
- Scans and uploads medical records and forms into the electronic health record (EHR), ensuring accuracy and readability.
- Provides patient education and instructions per provider or nurse direction.
- Assists providers, nurses, and therapists during patient exams, simulations, or procedures as needed.
- Supports front desk and scheduling activities as needed (check-in, insurance verification, phone coverage, patient reminder calls).
- Ensures compliance with HIPAA, patient confidentiality, and safety protocols.
- Upholds Clients mission, values, and culture by promoting compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current MA certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent).
- Current BLS certification required.
- 1 year of back-office clinical experience preferred; oncology-related experience a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Prior experience in radiation oncology or oncology care.
- Familiarity with oncology terminology and patient flow in a radiation therapy clinic.
- Front-office experience including scheduling, check-in, and patient communication.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
