Job Title: Physical Therapist

Summary
The Physical Therapist is responsible for organizing and conducting medically prescribed therapy programs designed to restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or minimize physical disabilities resulting from injury, disease, or other causes. This position helps patients achieve maximum performance and independence while adapting to their individual capabilities.

Essential Responsibilities

- Clinical Practice
- Provides Physical Therapy services consistent with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
- Evaluates, tests, and administers treatment programs for patients to improve strength, mobility, balance, and function while reducing pain and discomfort.
- Utilizes therapeutic modalities including exercise, massage, heat, cold, water, and electrical stimulation as prescribed.
- Develops measurable, functional goals and objectives for each patient, including timelines for achievement and anticipated discharge planning.
- Completes accurate and timely documentation to support clinical care and reimbursement requirements.
- Education and Support
- Serves as a clinical educator and resource for patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare staff regarding physical therapy techniques and best practices.
- Performance Improvement
- Participates in initiatives aimed at improving patient satisfaction, departmental efficiency, and quality outcomes.
- Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize workload and meet departmental goals.
- Compliance and Safety
- Actively participates in maintaining compliance with Joint Commission standards and other regulatory bodies.
- Adheres to safety, infection control, and confidentiality policies.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy
Experience:
- New graduates are welcome to apply
- Experience in acute care, skilled nursing, or outpatient settings preferred
Licensure:
- Current and active Georgia licensure to practice Physical Therapy
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development
