Job Title: Special Education Teacher
Pay Rate: $45-50/hour
Location: Metro Conway, SC
Job Summary:
The Special Education Teacher is responsible for providing individualized instruction, support, and services to students with disabilities. This role ensures that students receive appropriate educational opportunities aligned with their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) while fostering academic, social, and emotional growth in a supportive classroom environment.
Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for assigned students in compliance with federal, state, and district guidelines.

Provide direct instruction tailored to students’ individual needs, utilizing differentiated teaching strategies and specialized instructional methods.

Adapt general education curricula to meet the needs of students with disabilities.

Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and related service providers to ensure inclusion and support for students in the least restrictive environment.

Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction to ensure goals and objectives are met.

Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and services provided.

Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and staff meetings as required.

Implement classroom management strategies that promote a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.

Stay current with best practices in special education, instructional techniques, and legal requirements.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Valid state teaching certification in Special Education.

Knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding special education (IDEA, ADA, Section 504).

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Ability to adapt instruction and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
Work Environment:
Special Education Teachers work in school settings, which may include resource classrooms, self-contained classrooms, or inclusive general education classrooms. The position requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and regular communication with parents and guardians.
