Job Title: General Education Teacher – Science
Location: Pawleys Island, SC (Georgetown County)
Position Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated General Education Science Teacher to join a school-based team in Georgetown, SC. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality science instruction, foster a positive and engaging learning environment, and support the academic and personal growth of all students. This role involves creating engaging, standards-aligned lessons, differentiating instruction based on student needs, and collaborating with colleagues to drive student success.
Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging science instruction aligned with South Carolina state standards and curriculum guidelines

Create a classroom environment that promotes inquiry, critical thinking, and hands-on learning

Assess and monitor student progress through assignments, labs, projects, assessments, and classroom participation

Differentiate instruction and instructional materials to meet diverse learning needs

Integrate technology and real-world applications to enhance science instruction

Communicate regularly with parents, administrators, and support staff regarding student progress and behavior

Participate in professional development, team meetings, and collaborative planning

Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress in compliance with school and district policies
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred

Valid South Carolina teaching certification in Science or eligibility to obtain one

Prior experience teaching science at the middle or high school level preferred

Strong classroom management and communication skills

Ability to engage students using varied instructional strategies and technology
Schedule & Contract Details
-
Full-time, on-site position following the school year calendar

Monday–Friday, daytime hours (no weekends or evenings required)

Academic-year contract with potential for renewal
