IDR Healthcare Spotlight: Julie Wiggins

Blog post 7

Julie Wiggins is one of our talented healthcare recruiters here at IDR. She’s been part of our internal team for four months, and we’re so grateful for her efforts on behalf of our travel nurses.

Julie’s Perspective On Recent Placements

One of her recent placements was for a medical surgery nurse, Whitney. She was looking to return to her dream facility, Ascension St. Vincent, where she’d worked previously. But this time, Whitney’s goal was to go back on contract.

“One thing that automatically connected us was that we grew up 30 minutes from each other. Having that in common really made it easy for us to dive deep into her preferences and find out what she really wanted in her next nursing contract. We were able to talk about all of our shared experiences growing up in North East Alabama.”

As a result of Julie’s skills and hard work, IDR was able to place Whitney at her dream hospital, where we secured a competitive contract for her.

“It’s been really awesome being able to help someone out from where I’m from and see the results of what we do firsthand.”

Julie’s Perspective On Working For An ESOP Company

An Employee Stock Ownership Program is a unique component of our benefits package offered in addition to a traditional 401K.

“[An ESOP] gives us a family-like feel. The fact that we get to share our ESOP with our traveling nurses is extremely special because not many staffing agencies offer benefits like this. Nurses and clinicians love being part of something bigger and participating in the big picture.”

The IDR Healthcare ESOP sets us above other agencies, and Julie has found it to be a significant factor for travelers when considering staffing contracts.

“I always tell them that if they work with us and take multiple contracts with us, at just three years, they’re fully vested in our company. They’re able to keep their company shares indefinitely until the company sells or until they retire. It’s something I find extremely important to bring to the table when discussing opportunities with travelers. And they love it!”
