Job Title: Autism Specialist
Job Type: Full-Time | School-Year Contract

Overview:
We’re seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Autism Specialist to provide individualized support and instructional strategies for students on the autism spectrum. The ideal candidate brings expertise in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), social-emotional learning, and evidence-based practices that promote communication, independence, and inclusion within the school environment.

Responsibilities:
• Assess students’ needs and develop individualized plans targeting communication, academic, behavioral, and social goals
• Provide direct instruction and intervention using evidence-based approaches such as ABA, structured teaching, and visual supports
• Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, and families to ensure consistent implementation of strategies across settings
• Train and coach staff on effective classroom management techniques, sensory regulation, and communication supports
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions based on data and observation
• Contribute to IEP development and participate in team meetings to align goals and services
• Support the creation of inclusive environments that promote engagement and success for students with autism
• Maintain compliance with IDEA, district, and state regulations

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Psychology, or related field
• State certification in Special Education (Autism Endorsement preferred)
• Experience working with students on the autism spectrum in school or clinical settings
• Knowledge of ABA principles, communication systems (PECS, AAC), and sensory integration strategies
• Strong collaboration, organization, and data collection skills
• BCBA or BCaBA credential a plus, but not required
