Opportunity Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, highly organized, and detail-oriented Patient Services Coordinator to join our team. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, managing check-in, appointment scheduling, payment collection, and overall front desk operations. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring a positive experience.

Check patients in for appointments, verify insurance information, and collect payments.

Obtain medical records and authorizations as needed.

Schedule appointments, coordinate follow-up visits, and complete reminder calls.

Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and route messages appropriately.

Collaborate with clinical staff to optimize scheduling and patient flow.
-
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards.

Troubleshoot scheduling and front desk issues, escalating when appropriate.

Perform additional administrative duties such as scanning, filing, and assisting other departments.
Qualifications & Requirements

High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or Medical Assistant certification preferred.

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare front desk, scheduling, or administrative role.

Strong customer service skills with a professional and friendly demeanor.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-
Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced setting.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn healthcare software quickly.

Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing priorities.
Desired Skills & Experience
-
Familiarity with oncology, radiation oncology, or related workflows.
-
Experience with EMR systems (OncoEMR or similar preferred).
-
Knowledge of medical terminology.
-
Background in insurance verification, authorizations, billing, and/or medical records management.
-
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
