Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) – District Support Team

Position Type

Full-Time, Temporary (2025–2026 School Year)
37.5 hours per week | On-site / Face-to-Face
$24-26/hr

Position Summary

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) – District Support Team serves as a district-level behavioral support resource, providing short-term, intensive behavioral intervention and consultation services to students with significant behavioral needs across district schools. This role is designed to respond rapidly to new student enrollments and increasing behavior referrals by delivering direct student support, staff coaching, and data-driven intervention implementation.

RBTs will be assigned to individual student cases for a limited duration (approximately three weeks per placement) with the goal of stabilizing behavior, establishing effective interventions, and equipping school staff with strategies to support long-term success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, face-to-face behavioral support to students with identified behavioral and/or autism-related needs across district sites.

  • Conduct classroom and school-based observations to assess student behavior and environmental factors.

  • Implement behavior intervention strategies under the supervision of the Behavior and Autism Coordinator and/or Behavior Specialist.

  • Collect, track, and analyze behavioral data to monitor student progress and inform decision-making.

  • Coach and support teachers, paraprofessionals, and school staff in the consistent use of evidence-based behavior interventions.

  • Assist in developing, refining, and implementing behavior support plans.

  • Collaborate with district behavior team members to ensure continuity and consistency of services.

  • Support smooth transitions by building staff capacity before exiting individual student placements.

  • Maintain professional documentation in compliance with district and program requirements.

  • Travel between district schools as assigned.

Placement Model

  • RBTs will function as district staff rather than being permanently assigned to one school.

  • Assignments are short-term and needs-based, typically lasting approximately three weeks per student.

  • Caseloads will shift as new students enroll or behavior referrals increase across the district.

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required.

  • Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorder and/or significant behavioral needs preferred.

  • Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and data collection methods.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, administrators, and district-level staff.

  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently while following supervisory guidance.

  • Reliable transportation for travel between district locations.

Work Schedule

  • Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

  • Face-to-face service delivery during the school day

  • Position anticipated to continue through at least the end of the 2025–2026 school year
